Bukavu, Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Passing through a marketplace in downtown Bukavu and advised not to leave the vehicle, this shot was taken from the backseat of the Toyota Land Cruiser. It was selected for the Royal Academy of Arts' 2020 Summer Exhibition.

Skjervoy, Norway. Marine biologist, adventurer and sailor Andreas B. Heide aboard his research vessel Barba in Arctic Norway. I joined Captain Heide to search for Orcas while on assignment for Sidetracked Magazine.

Bukavu, DRC. A billboard with the image of Dr. Denis Mukwege, joint-winner of the 2018 Nobel Peace Price, for his efforts to end sexual violence and impunity in the DRC. The city is dotted with such billboards.

Bergsfjord, Norway. A view from the stern of the expedition yacht Barba. Later that day we encountered the beluga whale Hvaldimir, which prompted the investigation and subsequent cover story for Issue 13 of Oceanographic Magazine.

Bukavu, DRC. The models are survivors of sexual violence and their involvement in this show is a reclamation of their womanhood, and a key part of their rehabilitation.
